The Cuban
cuisine refers to the Spanish recipes with African
memories and it is less spicy than in the others creole
islands in the Caribbean. The staples are rice (arroz),
beans (frijoles) and pork (cerdo). The national plate is
called ajiaco, a soup with meat and mixed vegetables.
Very popular the cerdo asado (pork skewers) and the
Langosta criolla (lobster with spicy tomato sauce,
spices, onion and chilli). Tropical fruit. The most
famous drink is the rum here called Ron, base of the
famous cocktail of the Island: mojito, daiquiri, piña
colada, Cuba libre. |
