The largest of the Grenadines with its 33kmq., also the most populated
: 6.000 people divided in African and Scottish.
The Arawak indians, that was the population that Colombo met on these
islands while searching the West Indies called it
the island of cliffs coral reefs.
Is drawn wonderful bays, some of them provide safe anchorages such as
Tyrell bay on the south-west coast, while
a red hilly range is studded by old mills and Great houses ruins.
Every year at the beginning of august takes place a famous regatta of
island built sailboats.
